Spooky Sausage Mummies and Spider Egg Bites

Spooky Sausage Mummies

Ingredients:
• 12 pork sausages
• 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
• 1 egg beaten
• Edible eyes
 
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 200C / 180C fan / Gas 6
  1. Cut the pastry into thin strips about mm wide.
  1. Wrap the pastry strips around each sausage to give a “mummy” effect.
  1. Be sure to seal the first wrap around and the last wrap around to keep the pastry in place.
  1. Brush pastry with egg wash.
  1. Place on a baking try and bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until pastry and sausages are golden.
  1. Decorate with edible eyes, or use a drop of mustard for the eyes also!
 
Spider Egg Bites!
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2tbsp poppy seeds
  • 25g grated parmesan cheese
  •  
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 200C / 180C fan / Gas 6
  2. Cut discs or Halloween pastry cutter shapes of puff pastry 1” wide and brush with beaten egg.
  3. Place on a baking tray.
  4. Sprinkle discs with poppy seeds and a parmesan shavings.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes until golden.
  6. Fun Food Kids Activity!
  7. Get the kids help by adding food colouring to mayonnaise to create fun dips for both above recipes!
  8. Green, orange and black work great for Halloween!
