Yellow Butter Cake

Ingredients:

230g butter, softened to room temperature

200g caster or granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract (not 'essence)

225g self-raising flour

110mls full-fat milk

 

Method:

1.  Preheat your oven to 150 degrees. Grease and line one 9x13 cooking dish. 

2.  In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until well-combined. 

3.  Beat in the eggs and vanilla  the mixture will become fluffy.  Lastly, add the flour and milk.  Mix again. 

4.  Pour the batter into the baking dish and place into the oven.

5.  Bake for 35 minutes or until golden on top, and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle.

6.  Let cool slightly. If you would like, dust the cake with icing sugar.
