Jack O’Keeffe's Classic American Cheese Burger
Serves 2
Ingredients:
• 4 X 4oz Beef Mince Balls, At Least 18%
• 1 White Onion, Thinly Sliced
• 2 Brioche Burger Buns
• Salt And Pepper
• 1 Tbsp Sunflower Oil
• 4 Slices Of American Cheese (Easi Singles)
• 2 Butterhead Lettuce Leaf’s
• 4 Tbsp Mayonnaise
• ½ Tbsp Ketchup
• ½ Tbsp Yellow American Mustard
• 2 Gherkins, Diced And A Tsp Of Pickle Juice
• ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
• ½ Tsp Sugar
• ½ Tsp Celery Salt
Method:
1. Let’s start by making the burger sauce, place the mayo, ketchup, mustard, gherkins, pickle juice, garlic powder, sugar and celery salt into a bowl and mix together until smooth. Set this aside until needed.
2. Place a pan on a medium heat, add a little oil and toast the burger buns. Once toasted set aside.
3. Turn the pan up to a high heat, once hot add a little more oil. Season the meat balls with salt and pepper. Place the balls into the pan, 2 at a time and sprinkle the sliced onions over the meat balls. Using a spatula smash the meat balls and onions out into really skinny burgers. Cook for 2 minutes and flip. Add a slice of cheese to each burger and cook for two minutes.
4. While the burgers are cooking sauce top and bottom buns, place a leaf of lettuce on the bottom buns and when the burgers are cooked lift the meat onto the buns and stack up into double cheese burgers. Close the burgers and serve up with home fries!
