Oisin Davis makes some Coffee Cocktails
1. POWERS IRISH COFFEE FROM MP WALSH DOMINICK STREET, GALWAY
Ingredients:
35 ml Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey
100 ml Moyee Triple Blend Coffee
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
Freshly whipped cream
Method:
Heat a Georgian style glass with hot water and then pour it out.
Pour in the sugar and whiskey and stir. Add in the coffee and stir again until the sugar has melted. Then carefully pour the cream with the back of a teaspoon on top of the glass.
2. IRISH ESPRESSO MARTINI BY BEWLEY'S ON GRAFTON STREET, DUBLIN
Ingredients:
35 ml Kalak Irish Single Malt Vodka
15 ml Coffee liqueur
10 ml sugar syrup
1 espresso shot of Bewley's Christmas Coffee Blend
Method:
Chill a martini glass with ice. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with some ice. Seal the shaker and shake hard for 20 seconds. Remove ice from the glass and strain the cocktail. Garnish with some coffee beans.
3. BELFAST COFFEE FROM BAR 1661, GREEN STREET, DUBLIN
Ingredients:
25 ml Bán Poitín
10 ml Demara sugar syrup
75 ml Cold Brew coffee
Freshly whipped cream
Fresh nutmeg
Method:
Chill a Georgian glass with some ice. Pour the poitín, coffee and sugar and ice into a shaker and stir for 20 seconds. Remove the ice from the glass and strain the cocktail. Top up with cream and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
