TV3 introduces a new household on this week?s ?Gogglebox Ireland?

Gogglebox Ireland is back this week with another dose of hilarious TV commentary from families and friends from all over Ireland. This week TV3 introduces us to Martin Brady and Rory Egan from Rialto in Dublin.

Rory and Martin have been friends and bridge partners for over 10 years and still play bridge together up to 3 times a week. Rory, from Blackrock, runs the biggest Bridge congress in Ireland. When he is not looking after dog Pedro and his pet snake, Rory also enjoys public speaking and writing.

Martin, who is a university lecturer, has a real interest in History and Literature and enjoys going to the theatre. Rory enjoys reality programmes such as Deadliest Catch, The Daily Show and also likes the odd documentary. While Martin has been known to binge watch episodes of Game of Thrones, he is also a massive animation fan, especially The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Last week TV3 introduced viewers to a total of ten households, including new Twitter sensations The Tully twins, Neal and Fergal from Cavan, Cabra pals Jamie, Lindsay, Ashley and Grainne, Castleknock ladies Angela and Eileen and Liberties duo Tracie and Anita.

#GoggleboxIRL was the top trend on Twitter all night as comedy gold moments like Eileen’s Michael ‘Tea’ Higgins tea cosy, the Cavan twins standing for the Irish national anthem in their living room and the Cabra girls description of Marty Morrissey as looking like “John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever” sent everyone into an hysterical online frenzy.

The first episode of Gogglebox Ireland was a hit with viewers with over 392,000 all tuning in to watch people watch telly! 152,000 on average watched the show on TV3 with viewing figures peaking at 189,000.

Tonight’s (Thursday 29th September) episode will see the Gogglebox Ireland households comment on a range of shows such as X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Fifty Ways to Kill Your Mammy.

Tune in to Gogglebox Ireland tonight (Thursday 29th September) for more hilarious moments.
